WLODZIMIERZ "WALTER" BOBKO

WLODZIMIERZ "WALTER" BOBKO May 8, 1925 - September 1, 2013 Passed away at the age of 88, after many years of Parkinson's and a short but courageous battle with cancer. The middle child of three brothers and a sister, Walter was born and raised in Rokietnica, Poland. He immigrated to Montreal in 1951, married Else (née Kaiser) in 1952 and moved to Toronto shortly afterwards. A diesel mechanic by trade, Walter worked for Inter-City, General Motors and Mack Trucks until retirement. A beloved husband and father, and a devoted family man, he leaves behind his loving wife Else of 61 years, his five children Edward (Fiona), Ursula (Bruce), Michael, Richard and Walter Jr. (Nadine) and his five cherished grandchildren (Andrew, Sarah, Adriana, Karl and Andrea). He died as he lived, "Everyone's Friend" and will be fondly remembered by his many friends and "Great" neighbours. A special thanks to Dr. Klodas and to the caring staff at Trillium Hospital over the past few weeks. Visitation was held at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, Mimico Chapel, 63 Mimico Avenue, Etobicoke on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church (277 Royal York Rd.), Mimico. Interment followed in Park Lawn Cemetery.
