Doug and I started together in Radio at CKAR in Huntsville and we moved to Barrie. I called him black bart and he called me Tex cause I played country music.
We had good times together and a lot of laughs. I will miss him greatly.

Will miss Doug - lived at Huntley Street for some 27 years and shared many times together on projects and at Jingles. He was always creative, and a true friend. Fortunately, I had lunch with Doug just a few months ago.
Good trip good buddy.
Cheers,

I first met Doug in 1964 at Radio Station CKAR in Huntsville. As he was new to radio, I taught him how to operate his shift. He was a natural - with a great radio voice.
We crossed paths over the years including during his stint in Toronto radio.
Although we lost touch in the past number of years it was always fun to see his on camera work.
My thoughts go out to Doug and his family at this time.

Dear family and friends,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Doug was indeed a unique, 'big' personality. May he rest in peace. To pull through such a difficult time, I suggest you think of the good times, watch him in the movies and read his very interesting books. He will thus remain in your thoughts and in your hearts. May God console you all!

My friend for forty-two years is gone, but never will be forgotten. Too many laughs to list; too many struggles shared; from balconies to patios and finally his magical terrace... smokes, rum and cats. R.I.P. Doug.

Rest in Peace old Buddy. Our Recruit Class # 50 in Shilo, Manitoba was a proud Class. We were few in number then and are sadly fewer in number today.

Heidi and family please see the notice placed on the Provost Corp site by the administrator Mel Pittman.

Rest In Peace dear Doug. My sympathies to the family. I had the pleasure of being a guest in Dougs home and enjoying a wonderful bar-b-que with my Uncle Frederick Manter, Ron Leach and Clare Walker. Delightful. Such a kind and accomplished person. Linda Potter
