Frederick Feather Obituary

FEATHER, Frederick James 'Jim' - On August 6, 2010 with his beloved partner Yvonne Bridgman by his side, Jim passed peacefully in his sleep. Born the summer solstice of 1920 in Accrington, England, Jim was given a taste of northern Ontario as a child in Schumacher, where his father worked in the mines before returning after three years to Lancashire. Labouring at Bristol Aircraft in WWII before performing military service, he emigrated permanently in 1948 and worked on two of the most noteworthy Canadian achievements, the Avro Arrow and the Canada Space Arm. Engineering and acting were the vehicles for his creativity, acting in theatre, television and film. Throwing a backhand draw with a yard on was pleasure on a bowling green forty years to the end end. Around his piano, many sang into the night. With Betty, Jim was Dad to Max, Ted, Mike and Una and grandfather to Adam, Sean, Alicia, Mark, Alexandra and Elliot. Jim was also special to Yvonne's family, Wendy and Shelley Coleman, Robin, and Carley. Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home - Georgian Chapel, 264 Burton Avenue, Barrie on Wednesday, August 18th from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barrie Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
