Hello family and friends, today is Father's Day and I think of Joe often, as so many little and big things remind me of him. Today is a special day to think of him. He is the father of two wonderful young adults, Holly and John. I grieve for them every time my grief wells up. Joe and our sisters lost our mother when we were young - it is something that one never gets over, it affects our lives forever - but it does get easier to deal/live with, with time, as the adages promise. Personally, I miss Joe calling me on my birthday, hearing about heading to the trailer at this time of year, his passion about his work life and an update on his family, especially John and Holly, of whom he was so proud. He loved his children - he was SO happy when he became a father - loved having his nieces and nephews in his life, and so loved having his own children.

Hello family and friends, today is Joe's 59th birthday. Happy Birthday to Joe! We all miss him, and of course think of him especially when special days come along. I received a lovely email from one of my sisters today forwarding an old email from Joe to her - it was a wonderful example of his thoughtfulness, compassion, his clear communication - he wrote so well! We were reminded that he loved us and was there for us. I miss calling him and saying happy birthday; I miss my brother who I loved.

Thought I'd put an update here, post-burial. Joe's family gathered at the Sullivan plot to bury Joe's ashes on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. It was a beautiful, windy fall day - we celebrated Joe's life with songs, poems, acknowledgements, memories and tears. He is well loved and remembered, and he has created focused closeness and connection in our family.

Noreen, Holly & John how very saddened we are to here about Joe's passing. Thoughts come back about all the fun times we had at Klahanie, tubing, fireworks and nightly campfires. Joe always had a freindly smile and a cheerful 'Hullo' to greet us as we passed along the beach road. He was always there to lend a helping hand when ever needed and gave his help and advice willingly and graciously. All of us at Riverlake are heartbroken and shocked at the sudden loss of one of our dearest campers. We all have such wonderful memories and stories to tell of Joe - Joe will always be here at Riverlake. Joe was quick to help anyone, no job was too big for Joe. This warm and gentle man was a beacon in our park. We were so blessed that this wonderful family came to Riverlake. If the value of a man's life could be measured by the lives he's touched and the wonderful memories left behind - then Joe was wealthy beyond compare. Joe will be deeply missed.
