So sorry to hear about Don. Donna and I grew up with you and yes, Don was best source for "Pintail" news. He will be missed.
Like our Dad, Dick he will be missed, always in our hearts and always remembered.
Take care

I have been thinking about what to say, and how to say it; but really what encapsulates all of it is; THANK YOU "DADDY"!

The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost.
Yet, while we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.

The PATRIARCH of PINTAIL, the GATEKEEPER at Number 5…….. Over 5 decades making sure that if you Walked, Ran, Drove, Peddaled or Piddled; Big Don would see you and make note. Growing up in the 60s and through my teens and beyond under the watchful Eye across the street Big Don always knew what time I came home in the middle of the night. In fact all my parents had to do was call him to see if I even did come home instead of venturing downstairs to check if I did. But of course Don would also wonder who were those girls that dropped you off last night at 3am? Yes the Gatekeeper. I’m the oldest neighbor kid across the road. As I only get back to Pintail once a year, I would always look forward to popping across the street to have a Beer with Don and Helen and catch up on our lives, as I have been west for over 35 years. Don always knew who moved, who was in jail, and who owned what dog. Update of Sports Stats……. no problem; Sorry Don, Leafs still won’t win the Cup for a very ………long…….time. A wonderful family you are I know Helen, Margo, Jane and grandkids and all will keep your memories fond and vibrant. I’ll miss those chats……. and thanks for selling me my first real car, that 1968 Barracuda sure was a chic magnet. ( ah Yes! you did have a purpose) I’ll leave the fish stories for others to tell as they are whoopers! and I know my folks will make you welcome in your new home. I’m sure you will reminisce with Big Al about the one that got away. Tell them were ok. God Bless

Thanks Don for being a great neighbour for the past 48 years and for all the wonderful advice you have given me in the past. No home owners "HOW TO BOOK" will ever have all the tricks of the trade that you had up your sleeve. You will be missed but never fogotten. Rest peacefully.
