Jon KIRCHMEIR Obituary

KIRCHMEIR, Jon Josef Morgan - Was born in Edmonton on January 29, 1965 and died quietly in his sleep on March 19, 2013. Cherished son of Wolf and Marie Kirchmeir of Blind River. Beloved brother of Cassandra and Rolf Gitt of Toronto and Niobe and Bill Sandlin of Brownsville, Texas. Affectionate uncle of Paul, Caroline, David, Morgan, Connor and Jonathan. Since childhood Jon lived with Addison's Disease and Hypoparathyroidism. Jon valued music and history. He read continuously and shared his enjoyment for knowledge with everyone. He played and designed games and cooked for his friends. To honour his memory we remind ourselves to follow his example and practice kindness, seek truth, learn history, look for connections, value democracy, promote literacy, treasure music, solve puzzles, play games and be loyal. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kirchmeir, Cassandra and Niobe (my Sunday school teacher),
I have many memories of Jon. He loved to read and share his learnings. My Dad, Earl, respected Jon and loved hearing his stories. Jon and I travelled from Blind River to Toronto together many times. I remember when Jon was diagnosed in grade school. I am sure we asked Jon how to make a paper airplane so we could win the air plane contest in his Father's class. From our family to yours, our thoughts are with you.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I was a long time classmate of Jon all through grade school and high school in Blind River. He was truly a wonderful, kind soul. I will always remember his smile and excitement when he was telling us something of historical significance. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing.I have so many fond memories of him. God Bless

To the Kirchmeir Family,
I am or rather was Jon's nieghbour for the past 5-6 years, and we became friends, and I even saw Jon the day before he passed. He was always kind hearted and happy go lucky type of guy. He would come knock on my door to talk about his day, or one of his games he would play, talking about his sister's little dog when he took care of him. I will miss the knock on my door, and the next entry to his online blog, or the way he used to roll his eyes around when gossip in the building was getting around. He was the most likeable guy i knew.

Niobe, Cassandra and Mr. and Mrs. Kirchmeir....please accept my deepest sympathy. I didn't know Jon, but I do remember that he was in Grade 9 when we were in Grade 13. I was inspired when I read about the life he chose to live. I pray for all your family at this difficult time.
