Cpl. Joshua Caleb Baker was born on June 14, 1985. He was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan and was killed on duty on February 12, 2010. Joshua was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He is my ''only'' child. Joshua was determined to have his life make a difference in the lives of others. This led him to the military. When Joshua was 18, he joined the PPCLI full time. At 24 he went on what would have been his first and only tour of Afghanistan. Joshua was a young man with a positive outlook. He was raised a Christian and found strength in reading the Bible. He was hard working, strong, courageous, kindhearted, outgoing and full of life. As Joshua's mother I will always feel so very blessed to have had such an incredible son. Joshua is survived ''only'' by his biological grandmother (Lillian Baker) and myself, his biological mother (Janet Baker).

He will always be known for his honour and bravery.
