Cpl. Joshua Caleb Baker was born on June 14, 1985. He was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan and was killed on duty on February 12th, 2010. Joshua was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He joined the military at 18 years of age. He was a young man with amazing courage, determination and a strong constitution. Joshua was my "only" child and the loss of my son is something no words could ever describe. He was the light of my life and meant everything to me. Joshua was raised a Christian and found strength in serving the Lord. Joshua's laugh, sense of humour and priceless expressions will be forever missed. I want to thank you Joshua for all you've given me, and let you know that one of the greatest gifts of all is the joy that has been mine ever since the moment I first held you in my arms. You will always be your mother's most precious treasure. Joshua is survived only by his biological grandmother, Lillian Baker and myself, his biological mother, Janet Baker.

He will always be known for his honour and bravery.
