CPL. JOSHUA CALEB BAKER
Cpl. Joshua Caleb Baker was born on June 14th, 1985. He was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. At age 18 Joshua joined the Canadian Armed Forces but was killed on duty in Afghanistan on February 12th, 2010. He was only 24 years of age. I cannot even begin to explain to anyone what it is like to lose your "Only" child and be left with nothing. What I can describe is who Joshua was. Joshua was someone with incredible courage. Someone that was determined to make a difference in this life. He was strong with great endurance. Someone with exceptional leadership skills and took great pride in being a soldier. He was someone of great integrity who earned the respect he so well deserved by those who knew him. He was caring with a heart bigger than life. For those that never got the opportunity to meet him, if you ever had you would never have forgotten him. Joshua was well known for his incredible sense of humour. He had a laugh that was infectious that drew people to him. Joshua was someone that in my eyes you could never duplicate. Joshua Caleb Baker was someone who brightened up this world and forever stamped his signature on his mother's heart. He is survived only by his biological grandmother, Lillian Baker and myself, his biological mother, Janet Baker. I love and miss you Joshua more than anything in life. I will see you in heaven dear.
He will always be known for his honour and bravery.
