William Kuinka Obituary

WILLIAM KUINKA Bill passed away peacefully, at the age of 92, on April 7, 2008, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, with his beloved wife of 66 years, Rose (nee Kramaruk), and daughter, Valerie, at his side. Born on January 28, 1916, in Anyox, British Columbia, he was a devoted and loving father to Valerie, father-in-law to Richard Margison, and grandfather to Lauren. Bill is survived by his sisters Anne, Nellie, and Victoria and his brother Carl, all of British Columbia, and is predeceased by his brother, Michael, of Sudbury. Bill lived a full life. He had a long and distinguished career as a classical musician (double bass, mandolin, guitar), performing with such eminent artists as Oscar Peterson and Igor Stravinsky. He was a longtime member of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra and the CBC Symphony, as well as a solo performer both at home and abroad. He also taught instrumental music for the Etobicoke Board of Education. He enjoyed hearing or telling a good story and loved to laugh. We will always miss you and love you. At his request, a private family interment will take place. Condolences may be sent to [email protected] In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice.
