AILEEN SUN (nee WANG AI-YING) Mercifully released from dementia and in keeping with her character at age 89, Aileen gently moved forward in her Spiritual journey on Friday, October 12, 2012 at North York General Hospital, Toronto. Born in 1923 in Taiyuan, China, Aileen was a 1942 graduate of Nan-Kai High School and also a 1945 graduate of Lixin Accounting College in Chongqing. With courage and hope for her children's future education, she and her eldest sons left China in 1956. They lived in Hong Kong awaiting their 1957 immigration to reunite with their husband and father in Toronto. In 1983 Aileen retired from her rewarding twenty-six year career with Manulife. Aileen's family was her pride and joy. She is dearly missed by her husband of sixty-seven years, Paul. Grieving their loss are three sons and nine grandchildren: Charles and Linda with their children Kathleen and Jeffrey; Clement and Frances with their children Mark, Christopher with wife Amy, Andrew and Stephanie; Clement's partner Joan; Crawford and Brenda with their children Jasmine, Bennett and Everett. Aileen is predeceased by her parents, father Wang Fang and mother Zhang Qiu Yun, along with brothers Shilin, Shixie and Shiqing. She is survived by her only sister Aju and her brothers Shining and Shichang in China, her brother Shize in Australia and their extended families. Her cousins, Azhen in China and Brian and wife Sissy in the USA mourn their loss with extended family. Aileen's sisters-in-law Yuting and Yude and husband Lu Jiaguo and their extended families in China grieve their loss. A celebration of Aileen's life and interment of ashes will take place at York Cemetery, North York, Ontario, on June 14, 2013. In honour of Aileen's immigrant experience and her passionate belief in the value of education, her family is establishing a fund to support immigrant women. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to her legacy In Memory Of Aileen Sun. Please address your contribution to her granddaughter: Kathleen Sun, 2127 Gourman Place, Victoria, BC, Canada V9B 6C5.
