ALBERT HARTVIKSEN November 14, 1930 - December 9, 2012 Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, passed away in Toronto at the age of 82, surrounded by his daughters. Loving father of Jennifer (Orlando), Wynne (Kevin), Sonya and Claire, devoted grandfather to Addison, Sofia, Emma, Sara, Elisa and Erik, cherished brother of Ellen, Henry, George and Arthur and fondly remembered as dancing Uncle Abby to three generations of nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Colleen (nee Murphy), parents Emma Anderson, Johan Hartviksen and Minnie Brevik, as well as siblings Alma, Glada, Edwin, Glady, Arvid, Borghild and Robert. A custodian at the University of Toronto for almost four decades, Albert loved the university community and was proud of his role in making the downtown campus and the David Dunlap Observatory a great place for students to learn. Albert will be interred at a private family service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Friday, December 14th. In recognition of the care provided to Albert and his family in his final days, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael's Hospital. The family extends its sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of Fudger House for their loving care of Albert these past four years.
