GRIFFITHS, Alice Patricia - Passed away on November 30, 2012 surrounded by her family and under the loving care of the staff at Christie Gardens in Toronto. Born on April 15, 1913 in Lucan, Ontario, she spent her early life in Chungdu, China with her missionary parents and three siblings and - returning to Canada in 1927, Alice graduated with a Bachelor's of Library Science at Victoria College, University of Toronto. In 1980, she was elected as the Founding President of the Federation of Canada-China Friendship Associations. On her 90th birthday, she was granted the title of Friendship Ambassador from the Chinese government - an honour of which she was immensely proud. She is survived by her two sons, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held around her 100th birthday in the spring of 2013. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either of her two favourite charities, Save the Children or UNICEF.

Alice and Stewart and the boys saved my life when I lived with them in Montreal many, many years ago. Also best friends of my brother, Mac Reynolds. Alice was a very special person in my life.
