ANNE DAVIES Born September 3, 1932 in Glasgow, Scotland to Andrew and Marie Maxwell, Anne Davies died peacefully at her home in Ajax on December 27, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by Richard who passed in 1992, Anne and Richard enjoyed eleven happy years together, dividing time between Ashburn and their summers with friends and family on Lake Joseph. Anne was the loving mother and great friend to David, Beverley, Ross, Karen, Joanne and Lindsey (The Taylors). Anne was a fiercely loyal, generous and independent woman with an adventurous spirit who even tried her hand at hang gliding a few years ago. Anne came to Canada in 1975 with Craik Taylor and her kids. A naturally warm and caring woman, Anne effortlessly gathered new friends and acquaintances until the end. Anne's home was always a place other kids gravitated. She was the cool Mum, the one who ruled with her heart. The problems of the day could always be addressed and often solved over a mug of hot, strong tea. Anne is survived by her sister Pat, her niece Stephanie with Andy and Josh, and her grandchildren Kristen, Nicolas, Graeme, Natasha, Michael, Alyssa, Max, Alexander, Jackson, Brendan, Max and Samantha. She is lovingly remembered by extended family members Sheryl, Svetlana and Anna, Perry, Lucio, Colin, Anton with Helen and Dennis, Maria and Martin, and David. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Inge Jabusch and Gill Gilmour as well as the staff at Rouge Valley West and PSWs from St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Durham. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we would encourage donations to the World Wildlife Fund.
