BEVERLEY ANNE SYMS (SYRETT) 1942 - 2013 It is with a heavy heart that the family of Beverley Syms announce her passing on February 18, 2013 at Tall Pines Long Term Care in Brampton. Beverley arrived in Canada from her native New Zealand in 1969 following extensive travels in Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. She made life-long friends where ever she went. Beverley established her home and career in Toronto. She was respected as a caring friend, co-worker and leader in her working life most especially by her many friends at The Wellesley Hospital and Tom Delaney Inc. In later years she was most happy when volunteering, helping seniors. While Beverely loved her adopted Canada, her friends and family in New Zealand were never far from her thoughts. Beverley was predeceased by her beloved partner Herbert Harris, adored parents Rita Mabel and John Leonard Syms, step-mother Margaret and brother Athol. She will be sorely missed by her cherished sister June (Alan) Sayers, Whangaparaoa, New Zealand, brother Graeme Syms, Australia, and sister Valerie Zellermeyer, Mississauga. She was a much loved aunt to Peter (Margo), David (Lynda), Graeme (Ros), Gregory, Christina, Susan, Anthony (Brooke) and Ashleigh. She was most proud of her great-niece and nephew Amalia and Reuben (NZ) and great-nephew Nathaniel. Family and friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., (between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705) on Friday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Messages of Condolences may be placed at www.RidleyFuneralHome.com
