Blair Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Blair —

Peacefully on October 29, 2015 with family holding his hands. Survived by his wife Jane Gutteridge and son Colin, brothers Scott (Madeline), Fred, sister-in-law Linda (June) and brother-in-law Eric (Joanne), 5 nieces and 1 nephew. Also survived by extended family in Guelph. Predeceased by parents Alice and Ron. Friend of Bill W. Employed at Menkes Developments, formerly Ledcor and Ontario Store Fixtures. A talented, self-taught musician and budding luthier, Blair could often be found on his front porch making his own music. At 62, he had so much more he wanted to do. We would like to thank the TEGH staff for extraordinary care provided these past two months... from the personal care workers to the nursing staff, social workers, and doctors both in Emergency and H7 and J5 Memory Care Units. Special thanks to Chaplain Kate McGee whose a cappella version of Amazing Grace was a perfect and moving send-off. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Blair's memory to the TEGH Foundation. http://foundation.tegh.on.ca/en/how_to_donate.html Men, please get your prostate checked early and often. A celebration of Blair's life will take place Saturday, November 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the Garden Room, Toronto East General Hospital, 825 Coxwell Ave. Take "G" elevators to 5th floor then turn to your right.

I expect most of you know or have met Blair; I have not. Nevertheless, here is my own post about him and our brief friendship: http://harpguitars.net/blog/2015/10/the-harp-guitarist-friend-i-never-met/
