I worked with Brent for a short time recently. Although we did not get a chance to really get to know each other, Brent had a very warm and inviting personality, and I am better for having known him. It is with a heavy heart that I am hearing of this tragic news.

Brent, you touched more peoples lives than you could possibly know.

I knew Brent through his brother, Scott, I always remember him smiling and laughing even when things were going wrong. He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh. I haven't been in contact with Scott or Brent in years but have thought of them often.
My sincerest condolences.

Dear Mrs. Hayman & family,

Your loss has touched me deeply. My name is Noel Schiller and I have had the opportunity to work on several job sites, where Brent was the superintendant. After 32 years in the trade as a carpenter, I can attest to the fact that Brent stood out as a professional yet friendly superintendant. Indeed, Brent will be remembered as a truly exceptional man.
What separated Brent from the rest was his charismatic charm and natural ability to approach any situation with a positive and encouraging word. His smile had a way of making the job seem less stressful. As well, Brent had the ability to solve one-hundred different problems, simultaneously, while maintaining a personal rapport with each and every worker on the site. Moreover, his ability lead and motivate his co-workers commanded a respect that instilled a profound sense of confidence in his leadership. This confidence was two-fold as it aided in building confidence in the progression of the job as well as individual confidence in the men/women who worked under his direction. Believe me; this strong sense of confidence in Brent's leadership is rare in the construction trade these days.
On a personal note, I knew your late husband well and in my view, he was outstanding in on every level. Even my wife noticed that I seemed much happier and more relaxed when I was working with Brent at Bell Light box, and other similar sites. This is a testament to the profound and lasting impact that Brent had upon the well-being of those lives he touched on the job site. I am certain that many others share this loss with you, because; Brent was so compassionate and respectful of others. His passing is a great loss, both to the construction industry and the many individuals who where blessed by his presence on their job sites.

With heartfelt sympathy,

To the Hayman family;
I was shocked & deeply saddened to hear of Brent's passing. I remember meeting Brent for the first time when I was 5 years old and being invited to Debbie's birthday party in Candiac. Brent had a special smile that could melt you down. Someone so kind, a true friend and would do anything to help others.
I will remember all the wonderful times of Brent forever.

I am so very sad to hear this news; my deepest, deepest sympathy to Brent's family. Brent was in my class all through Champlain Elementary School - I can honestly say that everyone who knew him loved him - such a nice, kind, sweet fellow. I came to visit him (with Danny Grondin) in Oakville way back in 1978 and, when I moved to Toronto in 1983, I looked him up and we met up a few times but eventually drifted apart as so often happens. I would sometimes see old schoolmates and we would reminisce about the friends we knew - Brent was always part of those memories.

I note that Brent still enjoyed vacations in Maine - that brought back a nice memory of our family meeting up with the Hayman family when Brent and I were around 15 years old for a day at Popham Beach.

Cherish the happy memories - I can only imagine what a special and wonderful husband, father, uncle, son Brent must have been.

My sincere condolences to you all.

Louise Todd and the rest of the Todd family.

Dear Cori, David and Jenna, Our hearts are saddened with the news of Brents passing. He was a wonderful person with a smile one can't ever forget. His love of Popham and taking you, David, fishing or taking a walk to find sand dollars will be a vision we won't forget for a
very long time. Jenna, your dad standing at the edge of the water watching you swim, is a very vivid picture too. Cori, we loved Brent and when he first brought you to Popham he told us that you love Popham just like he did. We were so happy that as a family you all enjoyed our

Our company has worked with Brent on various projects over the last 10 years and have always marvelled at his work ethic and dedication to his family. He started off as just another super to us, but quickly became our friend and someone you would look forward to seeing on the job everyday. He would never pass without saying hello and truly took an interest in everybodies well being. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and would always talk glowingly about his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face, no words can do him justice. He will truly be missed by all. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family.

January 20, 2012

The Oakville Minor Lacrosse family has lost a wonderful, kind, dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer. Brent managed the OMLA Peewee 3 Rep Team last season, a position he accepted to ensure that these players could play rep when nobody else would step up. He once again, was looking forward to volunteering this season. Brent was a true gentleman, a good friend to all those he met and terrific supporter of the OMLA. His contributions to our association were significant and appreciated by the players, coaches and his fellow volunteers. Brent will be missed dearly. Our thoughts are with his wife Cori, his son David and his daughter Jenna.
