BRIAN ARTHUR CHATLAND Lifelong educator, coach and mentor to many, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, October 10, 2013, surrounded by family in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Valerie, and loving father of Sean (Tiffany) Chatland and Sarah (James) Bateman. Proud grandfather of Blake Chatland. Brother to Janet (Rob) Law and brother-in-law to Ron (Cheryl) Smale and Nancy Storry Deans. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephew and his extended family and friends. Retired teacher and vice- principal with 45 years in education for the Toronto District School Board. Rugby Referee Coach and Assessor at the National, Provincial and local level. Actively involved in the Markham Community and Grace Church family. Visitation will take place at Highland Funeral Home Markham (16th Ave. and Hwy. 404) on Tuesday, October 15th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16th at Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Ave., Markham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision, the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation or The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (an official relief and development fund of the Anglican Church of Canada.) Always positive, motivational, and selfless, with an unwavering faith, love and belief in all people, he impacted many lives and truly made a difference.
