CAWTHORNE, Catherine Aileen (nee Clare) - Peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the age of 84. Beloved daughter of the late James and Lyla Clare. Predeceased by her loving husband George Everett Cawthorne. Aileen will be sadly missed by her children, Stephen Cawthorne, Ann Quinn (Paul), Jane Cawthorne (Robert Lunney) and her grandchildren, Matthew and Alexandra Cawthorne, David and Patricia Ridge, and Kate Lunney. Our mother was a member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School and worked at Remington Rand before she married. Mom made the best peach pies and Sunday night dinners and she loved caring for her family. She was a strong woman who looked after herself for almost thirty years after our dad passed. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at Joseph Brant - 4E for all the care and compassion given to Aileen. It was a constant comfort to the family. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Brant Street at Blairholm on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment. www.smithsfh.com
