BOWMAN, Donald James - Passed away at Hillcrest Village in Midland on October 24, 2011 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Eileen for 60 years. Loving father of Brenda Flower and her husband David, Karen Bowman, Lynn Williams and her husband Randall and Tom Bowman. Cherished grandfather of Siobhan Hiscox, Jacquelyn Genis and her husband Shane and Kendall Flower; and great-grandfather of Acen Distefano . Survived by his aunt Alice McMillan in her 99th year. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Donald joined the RCAF in 1942 and proudly served our country during World War II as an Air Gunner with the RAF 106 squadron. He was the last surviving member of his Lancaster bomber crew. After the war, Donald pursued a career in real estate and established his own brokerage company. He enjoyed most of his retirement years in Lindsay, Ontario, relocating to Midland in 2008 along with Eileen to be closer to family. Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland on Friday, October 28th from 1:00 p.m. until commencement of the memorial service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment at a later date.
