EDWARD JANKUS August 12, 1937 - July 11, 2013 With great sadness we announce the passing of Ed Jankus, loving husband, fantastic Dad and a great guy. During the early hours of July 11, 2013, Ed passed away all too soon at Trillium Health Centre. Memories of Ed will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley (nee Orchard), 3 sets of daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and David Philp, Susan Jankus and Craig Howe, Donna and Victor Marreiros. His adoring grandchildren Brad, Eric, Nicole, Jackson, Max and Mason will carry his laughter and warmth in their hearts. Born in Lithuania, fleeing to Germany and venturing to Canada by the age of 12 with his family, Ed was always thankful for his peaceful and plentiful life in Toronto. Ed was a longtime food chemist and product development specialist for Maple Leaf Foods, working diligently with unwavering loyalty. He had a love of playing cards and games of all sorts with friends and family. Ed and Shirley have always appreciated spending time with their wonderful circle of extended family and friends as active members of Probus and Bloordale United Church. They always enjoyed hosting the party, and Ed was famous for his bartending and BBQ skills. Ed will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and friendship to all. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Heart Function Clinic, the ER staff and team on 5J at Trillium Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Trillium Health Centre Foundation or Bloordale United Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11 a.m. at Bloordale United Church, 4258 Bloor St W., Toronto, ON.
