F. DARREN SMITH September 4, 1960 - December 19, 2012 Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in his 52nd year. Loving husband and best friend of Lesli, cherished father of Matthew (Nicole), Brendan (Ashley), Beverly (Andrew), Andrea (Jacob), Victoria (Andrew) and Michael. Proud Papa of Emma Lesli and Madison Darren. Son of Connie and Ross (predeceased) and son-in-law of Karen. Brother of Dale (Tammy) and brother-in- law of Rick (Valerie) and Bill. Special relationships with Alanna and Ryan. Decorated Senior Officer (Staff Superintendent) of the Toronto Police Service and International technical director of YKKF International, Shihan 9th degree black belt Hanshi Jujutsu of instructors and students across the world. Darren will be fondly remembered by family, friends and co-workers. Thanks, especially to Dr. John Turnbull, Jane Allan and Hamilton Health Sciences ALS Clinic staff; VON's Helen and Alice; St. Elizabeth's PSWs Catherine and Dawn; Nurses Michelle and Kristen. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Rd E., Hamilton, ON (905-574-0405), on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundations.
