Frank Reilly Obituary

FRANK REILLY 1948 - 2011 Passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, just 10 days short of his 63rd birthday. Beloved husband of Eleanor for 42 years; loved father of Derek and his wife Sue, Allison and her husband Kyle, Gillian and her partner Phil, Kirsten and her husband Alex; loving grandfather of Mika, Taidg, and Julia; dear brother of James, John and Lorraine. Also will be greatly missed by his nephews, nieces and extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Agnes and father John. Frank immigrated to Canada from Scotland as a butcher with his young family. From these humble beginnings, he became a passionate and devoted labour relations mediator, arbitrator, and fighter for worker's rights across Ontario. Many of his legal decisions have shaped labour relations law in the province, and he was highly regarded in the legal, labour, and business communities. Frank was a champion of the underdog in both his personal dealings and his charitable activities. He was the previous owner of the Duke of Wellington, Waterloo, and an avid boater. Friends are invited to share their memories of Frank with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Morning Prayers will be said on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo at 11 a.m. with Rev. Piotr Machnacki, S.A.C. as Celebrant. A reception will follow at the Duke of Wellington. Frank was such an amazing man, and words cant describe how he would absolutely do anything for anyone. Such a great man full of warm smiles and sincerity. He is definitely a man whom will be missed by many, has touched many hearts to others, and is an inspiration to all.

So many memories from back in the day,I wouldn't know where to begin.
You had a "bigger than life" personality..it was always a good party if you were around..singing the Beatles or Motown. Many times you have come to my mind when i hear any of the auld songs from the good auld days.
I am sure you will entertain them up there Frank.Say hi to Tommy and wee Bobby.See Ya Later xo

I just want to share a special moment I had with Frank. We were sitting around the fire pit up at the lake one night, talking.... we were good at that. Frank's chair broke and he fell back. I asked if he was all right. He replied..."aren't the stars beautiful tonight. This is the best view I have had of the stars in years". I had to join him on the ground and we laughed. Frank... you are a special star. Thanks for all the good times.
