SOULES, Franklin Walker (Frank) - October 4, 1921 - May 27, 2011 At peace and with dignity, our dear Frank passed away on May 27, 2011 in his 90th year at home in Belleville, Ontario. Beloved husband of Retta for 65 years. Loving father of Susan (Harvey Erven), of Sundridge, Ontario; and Stephen, of Calgary, Alberta. Cherished and proud grandfather of Gillian and Michelle of Calgary. Treasured brother of Doris Chittley of Sundridge, Ontario. After growing up and completing high school in Toronto, Frank gave five years of active and distinguished military service overseas during World War II. He had a very successful business career, building close friendships along the way. After he retired in 1980, Frank and Retta enjoyed 30 years among friends in beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario. He was privately proud to have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1966, after years of attending night school with a challenging job and a young family. He was thrilled to finally obtain his precious diploma a month before he passed away. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed as a husband, father, grandpa, brother and a wonderful friend. The family extends its thanks to the staff of the Bridge Street Retirement Residence for their care and compassion. There will be no visitation and a private cremation. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on June 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Burke Funeral Home, 150 Church Street (613-968-6968), Belleville, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, it is the family's wish that a donation be made to a charity in Frank's name.
