YOUNG, George "Glen" - Of Brampton, Ontario, passed away peacefully, at Brampton Civic Hospital, following a long and courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Beloved husband of Olive (nee MACGregor), devoted father of Roderick, Gillian and Vivien, loving grandfather of Olivia and Jordan and father- in-law to Andrea and Amin. Glen was born on February 20, 1935 and immigrated to Canada from Clackmannan, Scotland, in 1958, following service in the R.A.F. He was a twenty-five year member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and former Vice-President of a large electrical contracting company. An avid golfer, Glen was a member of the Toronto Board of Trade Golf & Country Club for twenty-two years. An accomplished classical pianist, Glen also played in various well-known BBC Scottish Dance Bands, in Scotland and England, and Scottish bands in Canada that toured throughout Canada and the United States. The family would like to thank Dr. Martino and Dr. Soicher, the Emergency Response Team and Dr. Qureshi and Nurse Kamika, at Brampton Civic Hospital, for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. A celebration of Glen's life will be held in early summer of 2013.
