Mr. Archibald's influence in the area of addiction studies reaches far and wide. His research helped lead to the establishment of alcoholism and addiction being accepted as medical conditions, removing the social stigma of recovering people. He is a true pioneer in the field. His work and legacy will live on. Thank you from grateful recovering people, the world over.

Sending our sincere sympathy to the family of our former next door neighbour. Ruth and David were friendly and quiet while making us feel welcome to Melton Dr. We always enjoyed our chats over the fence and shared activities at Applewood United Church.

I remember Dave when I was in my teens and he and my Dad were great friends. My younger brother Jim was having trouble with one of the boys in the neighbourhood who liked to fight, so Dave and Dad decided that Dave would teach Jim how to fight. Dave laced a pair of boxing gloves on Jim and invited to hit him as hard as he could. I can still see Dave's face, red as a beet and laughing when Jim lit into him. Dave's action gave Jim confidence and he was no longer bothered by the bully.
My sincerest sympathy to Dave's family - he was a great guy.

It does not seem all that long ago that we had Ruth's service! My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. David was a great man. Love and Peace, Rev. Darrow Woods
