DR. HENRY FRIESEN, BA M.Ed, D.Ed Gone to be with his Lord December 1, 2012 at the age of 87. Henry leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Betty; children, Brian (Janet) Friesen of Fort MCMurray, AB, Nadine Hammerton of Woodstock, Don (Angela) Andrew of Barrie and Cathy (Wayne) Heideman currently in Hong Kong; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jordan) Andreasen, Kayla (Tyler) Burry, Kimberley (Jon) Thomson, Corey, Kelsey, Rachel, TJ, Emily, Alexander and Ashley; siblings, Gus (Mary) Friesen, Alfred (June) Friesen, Reuben (Betty) Friesen and Martha (Ben) Wiebe. He was predeceased by his first wife of 28 years, Dorothy (Parslow). Henry was born in Langham, SK the 4th youngest of fourteen children. He had a love for education, first as a teacher and then as a professor at the College of Education, Brock University. He was also a member of the Gideons for 40 years at the individual camp level but also in leadership roles at the national level. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Probus Club both in Orangeville and St. Catharines. He was also a chaplain at the Orangeville Hospital. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 6th at 1 p.m. at Calvary Church, 89 Scott St., St. Catharines, ON. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in Orangeville at a later date. Online condolences at www.tallmanfuneralhomes.ca
