HOWARD PARKER BUSHNELL It is with sadness but great memories the family announces the passing of Howard Bushnell at the age of 91 on September 2, 2011 in Toronto, Ontario. Howard was a remarkable man who was admired and respected by all who had the privilege to know him. His passing is a tremendous loss to his family and friends. His spirit will continue on and his legacy of character will inspire us all. A veteran of the Second World War, Howard served with the United States Army in North Africa and Sicily. After the war he moved to Canada to take a position with engineering firm McCarthy & Robinson, later to become owner and president. Howard enjoyed a diverse circle of friends and brought wit and fun to each. His church, Beach United, will feel the loss of his presence as will hisbridge, sailing, and social clubs. We all feel privileged to have been a part of his life. Howard was predeceased by his wives Lois and Polly, his brother John and sister Betty. Howard will be fondly remembered by his sons Richard and Kirk, cousins Tom and Bob Howard, nieces Janet Humphrey and Lois Dionne and nephews David Bushnell, George Ryan and Jeffrey Ryan and their families, and by his step family Wayne and Polly Rod and Ralph and Barbara Stone and their families whose love and company was a source of great pleasure to him in his later years. Friends will be notified of the date and time for a gathering to celebrate Howard's life. In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision Canada and Covenant House would be appreciated. Arrangements in the care of SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND TRIBUTE CENTRE, Toronto, 416-698-2861.
