JEAN BLATHERWICK - JEAN RUTHERFORD (nee FINCH) May 25, 1929 - May 5, 2013 Died peacefully and in no pain, surrounded by her entire family, completely engaged with life until the last moments. Jean had a very active mind, demonstrated by her interests in so many things throughout her life, a few of which include: music, the arts, films, history, politics, travel, and of course people. Jean loved the outdoors and will be remembered as an avid skier, figure skater, tennis player, sailor, gardener, and cottager at Six Mile Lake. She was also a long term volunteer in numerous ways, notably in the Needlework Guild for over 40 years. Recently, Jean became a resident at St. Hilda's Towers, where she quickly made many new friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John Langtry Blatherwick. She is survived by her three children, Peter (Peggy Lepper), David (Karina Castillo), and Ann and her 6 grandchildren: Max, Tim (Maryam Nasir), Andy, Laura, Zalma, and Taina. Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (2 stop lights west of Yonge St.) on Friday, May 10th from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at ST. CLEMENT'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 59 Briar Hill Ave. (at Duplex Ave.) on Saturday at 11 a.m. Donations to Doctors Without Borders or would be appreciated. She will be remembered for her zeal for life.
