JEAN CRUICKSHANK Beloved wife of Norman, died Friday after a brief illness. She leaves behind sons John, Ian and Neil, their wives Jennifer, Heather and Cathy and grandchildren Simone and Noah, Andrew and Kate, Caleigh and Chelsea, James and Gavin. Jean was the matriarch of the family, though not in the traditional sense. In a clan that loved attention, she was modest, putting others first. A kind and giving soul, she was devoted to her husband of 62 years - high school sweethearts from Paris, Ontario who settled in Toronto's west end. A teacher, who started out in a one room schoolhouse, she was also a first rate curler and bridge player, voracious reader, knitter and superb baker. Her happiest times were spent surrounded by her family, either around the dining room table at Blair Athol or down at the dock at cocktail hour at the cottage in Haliburton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 21, at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 15 Lambeth Road, Etobicoke.
