What a great loss! My heartfelt condolences to Bill and the rest of Jim's family! Living close to the Home Hardware store on Parliament St, I have known Jim for almost 30 years. He was always a kind, generous and caring presence in our neighbourhood.

Jim mentored many kids who had their first jobs in his store - my son Matthew was amongst them. It was a formative experience for Matt and I know Jim enjoyed the relationships he cultivated.

I'm glad that I had a good chat with him in the week before he died - but the news of his passing is a real shock because he seemed so vital just last week. Jim's memory will live on!
