JIM ROSS Obituary

JIM (JAMES) ROSS May 20, 1926 - January 1, 2016 In Loving Memory Jim Ross passed away at age 89 in Woodstock, Ontario, on January 1, 2016. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, to George McHardy Ross and Janet (nee Fordyce) Ross. He is survived by his children Mark Ross (Lorraine), Greg Ross (Laura), Tracy Ross and Terry (nee Ross) Pulling (John) and by his beloved twelve grandchildren: TJ, Jamey, Mackenzie, Lindsay, Andy, Madison, Cameron, Olivia, Cooper, Samantha, Jackson and Morgan and his sister Joan Watson and many loving nephews, nieces and friends. He is predeceased by his lifelong love and wife of 54 years, Margaret (nee Johnston) Ross who passed away in 2008 and his sister Lorna who passed away in 2013. As a young man, Jim played professional hockey for the New York Rangers and later worked in sales management for the McBee Company. He was a keen golfer and curler and enjoyed jazz music, Old Blue Eyes, bridge and spending winters with Marg in Bradenton, Florida. He was a longtime member of the Saskatoon Diamonds and had been a member of the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club and Sally Creek Golf Club. Our father will always be remembered by his children and friends for his warmth, humour and strength. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Sally Creek Recreation Centre 330, Lakeview Dr., Woodstock, ON N4T 0G9, on January 9, 2016 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Inquiries and condolences to [email protected]. To the Ross family, mom (Phyllis) and I were saddened to learn of Jim’s passing. We speak of him often and many our best memories involve Jim. They worked together at McBee until Jim retired.

We remember him with fondness and for his great sense of humour and laughter.
