Don was my classmate at Earl Haig and then Bathurst Heights from 1949 to 1953. He was a pleasant, intelligent and thoughtful person. We had a good relationship and then met several times in Pace Acheson and enjoyed brief reunions while shopping. He lived well and left many friends. Bud Bannerman, Calgary

Dear Sue, Tom and the rest of the family; So sorry to hear of Don's passing. Memories from the last 20 years or so when we encountered him are of a gracious host who welcomed our family, was always friendly, generous and easy to be around. He was a fine man, best evidenced by the wonderful daughters he now leaves behind. We learn lessons from everyone we encounter in life, and the lesson I learned from Don was that even if it takes you an entire summer afternoon and requires driving 100 kilometers or so bargaining between stores, saving ten dollars on a power tool makes it all worthwhile! Tom, Sue, Erin and Damon - our thoughts are with you.
Love, Peter and Susan

The Dickout family passes on our deepest sympathy on the recent passing of Don.
A great family friend,a mentor to so many that he has touched over his outstanding career.
There is just so many memories to list...we had spoken often in his retirement years that he had a enought material to write a best seller "On Canadian Sports Owership."
The Dickout memories certainly included the visits to Haliburton Lake,Iver Winn Stadium,Maple Leaf Gardens,Grey Cup Games in Toronto,Vancover,Winnipeg all accompanied by great times, which we will never forget.
Don gave us all so much and he will be greatly missed.
