JOHN JOSEPH HALL SKINNER 1915 - 2013 Son of Anastatia (Scanlan) and George Hall Skinner. With great sadness the family announces the passing of our Father in his 99th year on June 26, 2013. Dad to Patricia (Lorne), Caroline (Wayne), Winifred (Vladimir), Donna (Frank) and David (Cheryl). Papa to Grandchildren Dawn and Robert, Jennifer and Jill, Anastasia and Nicholas, Matthew and Rhys, Jacob and Jesse and great-grandchildren Dawson, Zackery and Chelsea, Catherine, Kelly and Jack, Madison and Darby, Alexandra, Jack and Jordan. Predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Euretta Olive (nee Johnson), brother Harold (Esther) Skinner and son- in-law, Jack Watson. Uncle Jack to Tim Skinner and great-uncle to Carrie Gallagher. Born in Derby, England he immigrated to Canada as a young man. In 1940 he enlisted in the Canadian Army, serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery until discharge in 1946. Three cousins, Irene, Jocelyn and Phyllis remain in England. He was an early member of the Stouffville Legion. He worked as a bricklayer in the Stouffville area, with "Veteran's Construction" and later at many sites in the Greater Toronto Area. A private interment followed by a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In remembrance, those wishing may make a donation to the Stouffville Legion or a charity of their choice.
