HOLMES, Joy Victoria (nee Carter) - Passed away on February 15, 2013, greatly missed and loved by her husband of 66 years Merle, her three boys Bob, Rick and Ted, with Valerie, Jennifer, Pauline and her grandchildren Michael, Kim, Karen, Kevin, Leanne, Laura and Jordana, as well as her many nieces, nephews, family and friends whose birthdays she always remembered. Joy was born in Toronto in 1924, an only child of George Carter and Eva Spanner. During the forties she worked as a secretary in Montreal for MCColl-Frontenac's Oil Refining Dept., where she met her husband Merle. They married in 1947 and lived for many years in Lachine, QC. Cremation will be private, as will funeral arrangements. Interment will take place in the spring. Her family would like to thank the kind staff at North York General, a hospital she greatly loved and where she worked as a volunteer for 25 years.
