I worked with Ken as a member of the Board of Directors for Sport Ontario in the late 1980's and 90's. Ken was gracious and considerate to everyone and a friend to me. He gave back to the sporting community and his long time club the Balmy Beach Club in so many ways. I can think of very few people who have contributed so much to so many just for the love of sport and development of youth in Toronto and throughout Ontario. Bob Hedley

Sending deepest sympathies to Mrs. Lane and your family, from Anne Mills, daughter of Mary and John Mills. I enjoyed talking to Mr. Lane about the enduring relationship between the Balmy Beach club and the Washington Canoe Club, of which I'm a member--great to be connected across miles and generations by paddling.
