LENORA POPTSIS (nee JUMA) 1930 - 2013 Retired, Bell Canada Peacefully at Shepherd Terrace on December 16, after a brief illness. Predeceased by her loving husband Chris and parents, John and Venetia. Much beloved mother of John (Artemis) and Andrea (Edward). Cherished Grandma to Christopher, Eleni and Adam. Survived by brother Denny (Alice). Lenora was born in Emporio, Greece and moved to Kitchener with her family at a young age. It was here that she nurtured her many talents, including her singing and athletic abilities, and where she began a 41-year career at Bell. She claimed to be "just visiting" Toronto where she moved in 1966 when she married. Lenora was in many ways a woman of a future generation - fiercely independent, vibrant and adventurous - delicately balancing her family commitments with a rewarding career in an age when it was not common to do so. She had a tremendous work ethic, a passion for classical music and gardening and was unbelievably proud of her three grandchildren. Her wit and zest for life were with her to the end. She will be greatly missed. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough on Friday, December 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held in the Pine Hills Chapel on Saturday, December 21 at 10 a.m. with visitation starting at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the United Way or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. www.etouch.ca
