LORRAINE O'HARA Passed away peacefully, at 87 years of age at West Park Long Term Care Centre in Toronto, January 4, 2014. Lorraine will be greatly missed by daughters Diane and Judy, son Brian and grandchildren Daphne and Samuel as well as her New Zealand relatives. Predeceased by brother Rod (1993), former husband Alan (1996) and granddaughter Margaret Lorraine Radford (2012). She grew up in Millers Flat, New Zealand, a rural community during challenging times of her generation. This helped form her strong character. She graduated from Dunedin Teacher's College, New Zealand and she met her husband during those college years. She travelled in 1950 from New Zealand for her Vancouver wedding to Alan O'Hara who had established his career as a mining engineer in Flin Flon, Manitoba. They lived in northern Ontario, then Vancouver and lastly Toronto. Lorraine travelled extensively and her favourite destination was Florida during the winter months. Visitation will be at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant (416-485-5572) on Friday, January 10th from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, January 11th from noon-1 p.m. Memorial service will take place at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre Saturday, January 11th at 1 p.m. followed by a reception from 2-4 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre to plant a tree in her name.
