Merlyn COBER Obituary

COBER, Merlyn (Mike) Cecil - Mike passed away on March 28, 2013 at the age of 78. Beloved father of Stewart (Susan) and Sandra (Steve). Dear grandfather of Edward, Beckham and William. Special uncle to the family of his older brother Eldon. Born June 8, 1934, he grew up during the Depression and World War II in farm country near Stouffville, Ontario. He proudly served as a Toronto Firefighter for 33 years, retiring as a captain. During his career, he served on 30 Pump, the Toronto Island and 17 Aerial. Since retirement he happily lived at his cottage near Barry's Bay, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. Friends and family are invited to the O'Neill Funeral Home (6324 Main Street, Stouffville, Ontario) for visitation on Monday, April 1, 2013, 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Heise Hill Cemetery, Stouffville. If desired, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
