NORBERT EUGENE FORTENER JR. Born in Indiana, June 30, 1946, passed away in Toronto November 15, 2012 after a brief illness. Predeceased by his partner Victoria Hilderman and survived by his daughter Kim Carey, father Norbert Fortener and many friends. As a result of his student activism while studying theoretical biology at Indiana State, Norbert came to Canada as a draft dodger, defecting to Toronto with his wife and daughter. If Norbert worshipped anything it was creativity. He was a brilliant collage artist, first with Exacto blade and later in Photoshop. He was also a great champion of others' talents and was a gifted critic. His wit, loyalty, generosity and devotion to fun and living life with unusual passion will be greatly missed.
