PHYLLIS SHIRLEY "BUNNY" GIBNEY (nee DAVIDSON) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mom on June 24, 2013 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of Lorne Gibney (deceased). Cherished Mother of Laurel (Bob Shaw), James (Elaine Sherwood), Tammy (Peter Werheid) and Jill (John Erskine Kellie). "Second Mom" to Pat Lofthouse. Adoring Nanny to Ryan, Zach, Brook, Miles, Brynn, Jessie, Katie, Kyley and Andrew. Very proud great-grandmother of Evan, Dylan, Autumn Rose, Sam, Lily and Mackenzie. Grieving the loss of their baby sister, Bunny will be missed by her big sisters June Scott and Laura Joy Davidson. She was predeceased by her big brother Ken Davidson. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Beatrice Shaw and Audrey Taylor and brother-in-law Don Thompson. Predeceased by sister-in- law Marion Thompson and brothers-in-law Ken Shaw and Hunt Taylor. A very special and always loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Beloved daughter of Phyllis and Murdock (Sonny) Davidson (predeceased). She shared her love generously and never missed a chance to make us laugh. Mom made friends easily wherever she went. She was greatly respected as the first female outside-advertising sales representative at the Toronto Daily Star. After that long and notable career, she was proud to become a top real estate agent for Royal Lepage. After mom retired she spent many hours volunteering teaching children to read. Mom had many talents, travelled the world, created culinary masterpieces and painted beautiful scenes. She was a fierce animal lover who always had a furry friend and spent her last days with Patsy, Tyson, Hamish, Rosie and Maisie. Mom contributed unreservedly to the global economy, shopping everywhere she went. Gift giving gave her great pleasure. Mom lived large and died peacefully surrounded by her children. She has now reconnected with her parents, her husband, her brother, her best friends Nancy, Don and Jacki and her devoted Casey. That is one hell of a dinner party! Please raise a glass and tell a joke in tribute to our beloved Mom. Life won't be the same without her. We welcome you to share a special story about Mom as we celebrate her life at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street, South, Newmarket on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 2 p.m.
