Dear Mike, family, friends and especially you Margaret.
May we all, in these dark days ahead recallthe light we saw when ray was in our midst.
I owe Ray a debt of gratitude, beyond the words I am capable of finding at this tearful moment. My wife Lauren endorses my words, she too held Ray in the highest regard for her support of me and his dedication to our company.Lauren loved to make her centuries old family recipe Swedish bread for Ray as our Christmas gift. Ray never wanted a gift, though we did exchange them, until we settled on the bread and he gave 2 bottles of excellent wine. Ray was generous, in all things. I could write for hours on that topic.I hope we can continue the tradition.
Ray entered the music business and I used to think, "Everybody Loves Raymond" I have to say the emails I have had back say just that, he was loved. My good friend Peter S. came to Toronto now and then and met Ray when he came to the office, he thought Ray was the company, he said today, "I bet people thought 3KO was a huge enterprise after meeting Ray", Peter is correct, Ray brought integrity, and dedication to all he did, he was a rare giant of a man,his humour, his professionalism, every thing Ray did was wise, kind and delivered with gentleness.
I miss him terribly, I see each day his desk, his unfinished work waiting for him to come into the office, and I need him to help me complete an agreement for the sale of the company, he was really great at reducing complex matters to easy, few words common sense.I miss his as a business colleague and as a friend.
I am so grateful he was in my life, he was a gift from God,
I think a great thing about Ray was the lessons he came to teach us, one he taught me stick to your principles through thick and thin, they will win the day, it may not seem that way for a while, but they always win the day, it's the long haul, not the short term that is where the treasure is.
I was so looking forward to sharing some of the golden years with him over a lunch, a dinner, talking as we did many times here at 3KO, about life, his faith, which I am so pleased he resurrected, his views on worldy silly goings on, on his devotion to Mike, his joy of family gatherings, and his desire to help Margaret, his charitable duties. We talked a lot about a lot of things.I miss him terribly
God bless you Mike,
God bless the soul and spirit of Ray.
with our deepest condolences
Ian, and Lauren.

Dear Mike and family, friends and most especially you Margaret.
May we all recall in these dark days the beauty we saw in the light when Ray was in our midst.
I write from my office, ray's desk is right in front of me, all this week it has been hard to think he has passed forward. Over the past 7 years Ray has been my tower of strength in some very
difficult business dealings. Ray saw around corners, he saw the trickery in some of th deals which confronted us, then we a clear mind and a methodical approach he would dissect the issue into little pieces ,,, all this took a few moments or so.He was brilliant.
When we met tricky business people Ray could make them squirm, without raising his voice, or saying threatening words, he simply laid out our case and the executive would capitulate, he saved our company from much aggravation on many occasions.
Many people in the entertainment industry have contacted me, a few notes have been postted, but here in summary is what is said, Ray was a rare individual in this industry, he was gentleman and he was most ethical, his integrity was second to none.
I miss Ray my business was about business but most days we found time to laugh, time to reflect on life and time to day dream how the company might grow despite the digital downloads eating into the traditional sales sector. Ray quickly learned this industry, my business and the customers.Speaking of customers "everybody Loved Raymond"
The office is quiet save for the radio, earlier I dimmed the lights, and turned the music off, the solitude was unsettling, it really gave me a sense that there is emptiness when a person like Ray moves forward.
Lauren joins me in these words, she thought th eworld of him and the advise he gave me, when I was puzzled over any thing she would say "ask Ray"
yes he was wise, I respected him, admired him and came to think that this man is very special, as I said I miss him.
Mike take good care, your loss can hardly be imagined, Ray was truly very special.
God bless you and God bless Ray in his new adventures.

I am still in shock ,stunned and very saddened to hear of Ray's passing.
I still think it is someone else and have to read the obit over and over to slowly begin to accept Ray's passing.
I expirence bad dreams every night.
I was very fortunate to meet Ray in 1972.
He became my shadow in The Toronto Junior Board
of Trade and guided me to the Exceutive of our club.
All positions on the Board of Directors were elected
as a volunteer committment.
Ray encourged me to strive and grab the brass ring.
The nigjht I lost my election to become Chairman of our club,
Ray handed me a magnum of champagne to give to Bernie Beckett
who had won fair and square.
I gave glasses of bubbly to each and every one of Bernie's team.
Ray was ALWAYS a human being of incrediable capacity.
Had it not been for Ray and others I would not have been able to aggresively and compasantinately retire at 50 in 1996 with a buisness that was highly competitive.
We all have guardian angels to show and guide us in our lives.
Ray was one of mine and I told him often.
Ray was always a telphone call away as I failed 4 times over 2 years in buisnes to eventully get it right !
I miss him, as do others i know, dreadfully and reach out to Mike
and family - who as it turns out I am also connect with, over the years.
Ray was our Secretary Treasure of the BTYP and Director of The Bob
Rumball Center for the Deaf.
God Speed and God Bless to you Ray.

We are so saddened by Ray's passing. He was one of the gentlest people I have ever known. He always made everyone feel so welcome. He is now in the arms of his family who have gone before him.
My deepest sympathies to Mike and all the family.
