ROSAMOND MOATE VANDERBURGH October 2, 1926 - July 2, 2011 Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Adored wife and companion of Albert for 57 years. Beloved mother of Matt (Sue) and Kate. Cherished grandmother of Nathan, Tyler and Tessa. Rosamond "Ros" graduated from Radcliffe College with a B.A. in 1948 and later earned an M.A. from Northwestern University (1951) and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (1989). Ros was a founding member of Erindale College, University of Toronto, where she was a professor of Anthropology and had a distinguished record of research and writing on the changing rolls of women of Southern Ojibwa communities in Ontario. She was a founding member of the Mississauga Historical Society and published author of numerous books, articles and academic journals. Ros will be remembered by her nieces and nephews, many friends, neighbours and acquaintances for her distinctive style, enthusiasm and determination. A private cremation will be held, with a family memorial ceremony at a later date.
