SHILSTON, Trevor Leslie - 1934 - 2012 After a brief illness, Trevor passed peacefully in his sleep on December 1, 2012. Known to his family as "Treasure", he will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bette (nee Copeland), step- daughter Lesley Mitchell (Barry Patterson), step-son Jonathan Mitchell (Anne Kendall) and two beautiful granddaughters Paige Patterson and Quinne Kendall- Mitchell. He will be sadly missed by his UK family, sister Janet (Fred Hynes) and his two nephews Barry and Steven Hynes and their families. Trevor spent 25 years of his career as a chief sheet metal estimator for Leslie Bros. Limited, a subsidiary of Black & Macdonald. Outside of his family and friends, Trevor's passion in life was Hockey. For many years, Trevor was a successful and highly respected coach and manager with the Toronto Marlboros of the MTHL. Trevor was Director of Scouting for several Ontario Hockey League teams including the Kitchener Rangers and the Belleville Bulls. Trevor served as Governor of the Detroit Junior Red Wings and the Plymouth Whalers. During his tenure with the Kitchener and Detroit franchises the teams competed in several Memorial Cup Championships, with the Kitchener Rangers winning the National Championship in 1982. He really enjoyed working with all the young players and watching them succeed in their careers, both inside and outside the arena. He truly loved everything about the Sport of Hockey! In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, a donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Please join the family for a "Celebration of Life" reception on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at 45 Livingston Road, Floor B1, Guildwood Village, Scarborough, Ontario.
