I expect Kathleen and Fr. Sean longed to be with us at their sister's funeral. With sympathy I write this report of Una's funeral. It was a beautiful service meticulously planned. It was a perfect celebration of a most well lived life. The beautiful St. Joan of Arc church (http://www.joanofarc.ca/index.php ) was filled with admirers from the many focuses of Una's life. We included those from her parish, former students and colleagues, from FCJ, from Voice of Women for Peace, and those of us lucky enough to have been her neighbours, as was I. The Mass was a lovingly service by her good friend, and enhanced by the organist who also led us in the singing of the beautiful hymns Una had selected. We concluded with Salve Regina. We rejoiced in Una's returning home. ‘As a deer yearns for running streams, So my soul is yearning for you My God.' And as we were enriched by this mediation, we filed as Una wished, to the church hall for a delicious reception and a chance to meet and talk more of who Una was to us.

My condolences to Kathleen and Fr. Sean.

Having no family in Canada Una cultivated a large garden of friendships including former students, co-workers, neighbors, and activists. We were privileged to be part of her extended Canadian family. We grieve her death but more so we are in deep gratitude for the gift of her life which was shared lovingly with so many.
