WALTER C. MILLER October 27, 1930 - March 31, 2013 After a long, lively, and deeply satisfying life, Walter rests peacefully. He has joined his beloved wife Margaret. Remembered with joy and missed by his family, his children and grandchildren: Walter Miller Jr. (Mina) and Kaylin, Sarah, and MACKenzie, Sheila Griffin and her sons Joshua Miller and Jeremy Griffin, Carolan Mackay and children Brent, Connor, and Aislinn. His siblings Charles Miller (Juanita) and sisters Isobel (Allan), his baby sister Morag Malloch (Jim) and predeceased by Maureen Loffredo (Jerry). Walter was an educator, a latin scholar and a life-long learner. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he earned his degree at the University of London and set sail for Canada and a new life. He met and married a ravishing redhead named Margaret and they shared a life of family, adventure and travel. Walter had a long and fulfilling career as a high school teacher and administrator, retiring as a Principal from Cedarbrae Collegiate in Toronto. He was active as a District representative for the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation and as a candidate for trustee for the Toronto District School Board. He loved his staff and the students and the whole community of education and he had many life-long and cherished friendships from his teaching years. Quos amor verus tenuit tenebit. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home chapel, 2900 Kingston Rd., 416-267-4656, with a reception to follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
