Ruth Springford

SPRINGFORD, Ruth - Ruth passed away on November 20th in Etobicoke General Hospital at age 89 after a short illness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Springford. Ruth had a long and interesting life as a radio, stage, film and television actor that took her from the studios of CBC radio and television to the stages of the Crest and Royal Theatres to films in Hollywood and New Zealand. A longtime member of ACTRA, she was recognized by her peers with her nomination and awarding of the Andrew Allan Award, the John Drainie Award, the ACTRA Award and the Dora Mavor Moore Award. She will be remembered by her cousins Stuart Smart, Murray Smart and Margo Goodger. A private family service will be held.
