ALICE TURNER Our cherished mother passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014. Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herb, and will be sadly missed by all her children Anne, Geraldine (Kelly), Rosemary, Herbert, Genny (Paul), Paul (Christine), Mark and her ten treasured grandchildren. Alice is survived by her brother Michael (Mary), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Our mother was not only Mom to her own children, she was a second mother and favourite aunt to many. Anybody from Newfoundland could count on Alice and Herb. Those they helped have never forgotten their guidance, support, and friendship during the transition to life in Toronto. The family will receive friends and relatives at PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy), on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's (Highland Creek) Church (Old Kingston Rd. at Morrish). Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In memory of Alice, donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or Manresa Renewal Centre in Pickering, Ontario. The family would like to thank their devoted home support workers, Vidia and Rowena, and the wonderful staff of Rouge Valley Hospital (The Margaret Birch wing) for their compassion and support.
