DAVID CHARLES HOLLAND BAKER David died peacefully at Georgetown District Hospital surrounded by his loved ones on February 12, 2014 in his 85th year. David grew up in Montreal and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1953. David and his family settled in Georgetown in the 1960s. He became actively involved in community activities including golf at North Halton Golf Club, the choir at St. John's United Church and numerous bridge clubs. He and Isabel travelled extensively and enjoyed many winters in New Zealand. David was predeceased by his parents Evelyn Holland (1979) and John Lovell Baker (1980) and his wife Joan Ramsay (1992). David is survived by his wife, Isabel; his brother, John (Joyce); his children, Shelley (Rob Allison), David (Lynn Martin), Stephen (Debbie) and Susan (Peter Kortenaar), step- children, Gordon Thompson (Jane), Peter Thompson (Carolyn) and Evelyn Allan (Doug) and his grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer, Victoria, Kane, Christopher, Carolyn, Bryce, Lindsay, Julia, Lauren and Patrick. The family wishes to thank the staff at Georgetown District Hospital for the exceptional care David received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Georgetown District Hospital or St. John's United Church. Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014. The funeral service will be held at St. John's United Church, 11 Guelph Street, Georgetown at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
