PERLMUTTER, Helen - Born in Druja, Poland, passed away in Toronto at age 96, on Friday, February 21, 2014. Helen Perlmutter was able to escape the holocaust, build a family in Canada, and live a long and full life. Arriving in Toronto in 1935, she soon found a job at Tip Top Tailors. She would work in the clothing industry until her retirement in 1982. Helen outlived much of her family, including her late husband (Izzie), daughter (Yael), son (Mel) as well as all of her 6 brothers and sisters. Helen is survived by her 2 grandchildren (Gary and Ben, who will forever remember her amazing cooking) as well as 3 great-grandchildren (James, Shaye and Elgin). Helen will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (3 lights west of Dufferin) for service on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Linitzer Society Section of Bathurst Lawn Memorial Park.
